BGCSE LITERATURE OVERVIEW
The study of literature encompasses the study of written works known or examined for their literary or intellectual value. This BGCSE literature course is designed to prepare students for the BGCSE Literature examination as it seeks to develop artistic consciousness and literary. During this course, students will review both poetry and fiction texts in order to gain a better understanding of the usage and effects of literary techniques and devices. Students will also explore theme, style, and message in selected works.

Unit 1: Literature Fundamentals
This sections reviews the basics of literature: what it is and why we study it.
Unit 2: Elements of Literature & Literary Practice
In this section, students will engage with smaller units of literature and make practice of identifying literary devices while relaying some analysis.
Unit 3: Literary Overview & Analysis
In this section, students will listen to the instructor' analytical overview of a poem and short story. Emphasis will be placed on literary devices and techniques along with their effects on the writer's message/theme.
Unit 4: Literary Analysis Review
This sections focuses on a class and instrutor review of the poetry and fiction assignments. Students will need to download the ZOOM application to facilitate a collection conference on the topics.
Unit 5: BGCSE Practice I
In this section, students will review and complete questions taken from past BGCSE papers. This section is a question taken from paper 1.
Unit 6: BGCSE Practice II
In this section, students will review and complete questions taken from past BGCSE papers. This section is a question taken from paper 2.
