The first step in speech building is selecting a topic. Deciding what to talk about can be a daunting prospect. There are two main sources for potential topics and they are:
1.Topics you know about
It is easier to speak on topics you know well. Therefore when selecting a topic draw from your own experiences and expertise.
Take some time to list possible topics you feel you are comfortable speaking on. Include yourself.
2. Topics you would like to learn more about.
You can make your speech a learning experience by selecting topics you would like to learn more about. To help you to prepare this speech you need to do extensive research and draw from the experiences of others. Subjects you are most passionate about are also sources of topics to build a persuasive speech on.
